We started this craziness in 2002. A few years into it, we brought about our first little moneky and two years later, we added our second crazy little monkey. Things around here are definately all over the place, but we wouldn't want it any other way.

Our home like the comfortable sty for pigs

With a full 24 hours to myself? Trent rounded up the boys, headed to the mountains and was in charge of the kids for the night. Lucky for me, it was The Aaronic priesthood commemoration camp out or in other words, Father's and Son's. As for myself you ask? I did the whole, ladies night out. Manicure (would have been a pedicure if I hadn't sliced off half my toe on the quilting frame earlier that morning), dinner, a quick trip to the fabric store and finally to cap off the evening: Chocolate at the Melting Pot. Now don't get me wrong, I loved hanging out with my friends, had a good laugh and have cute shimmery pink nails. But I really capped off the evening shampooing my carpet until 2 in the morning. Love it! All the little spots of dirt are gone, the carpet isn't turning our feet black. It feels so nice to walk on. The morning found me mopping the floor in the kitchen. For once I could say its safe to eat off my floors. And then they returned. My spot less house went quickly back to its messy form. Toys spread aimlessly on the floor, couch pillows tossed this way and that. My hard work was quickly being turned upside down. Trent mentioned it was like the pigs messing up their sty to make it comfortable. Alas, the few hours of a sparkly floor and fresh carpets was a safe haven retreat for me.

been there, done that many a-times. why do i even clean my house?? mopped floors, i think have lasted at most, 60 minutes without major spillage. but, hey,i think our efforts are appreicated by both the wife and husband. so for me, it's worth spending time cleaning even if it's going to get torn-up in a short while.

Ya know...Jim and I have discussed MANY times getting those black mats they have in restaurant kitchen for our house. Maybe some drains in the floor and we could just hose the whole kitchen down? *sigh* maybe when our kids are in college we will have pretty nails and clean floors all the time! :)
